Logo Design.
The Process.
Your logo is the cornerstone of your visual brand. It’s important to remember that a logo is not a brand; it’s the visual expression of the brand and reflects the DNA of the brand. A well-designed logo can have a huge impact on brand awareness, advertising effectiveness, loyalty, and ultimately, your bottom line. My promise is to work closely with you to craft a logo that creatively represents your business/non-profit, has longevity, and helps you stand out in a busy world.

My logo design process begins with research. I learn as much as I can about you — your company/non-profit’s history, culture, goals, values, and more. Armed with knowledge, I begin sketching, creating visual metaphors. Hundreds of thumbnails will be drawn, but only a handful will be selected and polished up for serious consideration. I’ll work with you to choose the right ones. Once your selections have been refined, you will select the winning design.

In addition to your new logo files, I will also provide documentation detailing your new colors, typography, and logo use guidelines. You’ll have all the essentials you need to debut and promote your new brand.

My Most Recent Work.

Seacoast Coffee Roasters

I have always wanted to create a brand for a local coffee shop, so I’m pretty stoked about this project and how it turned out! Every time my wife and I are traveling, finding good coffee is always at the top of our list. I’m always honored to create a brand for people that value good design and trust me with it.

Ashcroft Saws and Tools

Outside of music and design, another favorite hobby of mine is woodworking. You can imagine my excitement when I was approached and hired to create a rebrand for an established saws and tools business in Raleigh. Ashcroft has been around a long time, and it was time for them to have a fresh look. Make sure to check out the before and after photo to see for yourself!

Kristi Lee's Music School

I am so honored to have been able to create the branding for Kristi Lee’s Music School. The words that come to my mind when I think of Kristi are: fun, kind, friendly, and talented. All of these characteristics I wanted to incorporate into her logo, and I believe I have. I wanted to create a brand that was unique, different, not too serious, and really captured the atmosphere of friendly, while maintaining the reality of learning.

Stiles Roofing

There’s nothing like a client coming to you saying “I trust you!” This Project is what I would consider “the whole Shabang!” I was hired by Stiles Roofing to create an entire brand for them, from a new logo and printables, to a fully equipped website, Google Business, and Facebook page. The owner, Billy Stiles, was so great through the whole process, and the phrase “I trust you, Kirk” was said too many times that I could count. I love how this brand turned out and who it represents. If you are in North Carolina and need a new free roof, you will not find a better company to work with.

You can see the new site I built at stilesroof.com. Let me know what you guys think!

The Restoration Project

I designed the brand identity, website, and print materials for a capital campaign Exodus Church was hosting out of Belmont, NC. They are trying to purchase an old mill for their new worship facility. If you’re interested in learning more about this project, you can visit restorethemill.com

Pho Feel'n Asian Cuisine

I had the honor of creating the logo and identity for a new Pho restaurant going into downtown Gastonia, NC.

Pho-Feel’n is owned by great people and will have a one of a kind atmosphere just like the town it is in! Whenever you are “feeling some Pho,” this is the place you will want to go! Grateful to be able to play a part in it.

Gaston County Elections

I was honored to have had the opportunity to create the new branding for Gaston County Elections (formerly Board of Elections). I wanted to create something that was modern, fun, ‘murican, and subliminally challenged the community to “go vote!” With the check mark being an easy tie-in to voting, covering up the “O” in a radio button style-icon, revealing the C for Gaston County, I was able to create an easily recognizable logo mark.

Rosewood Church

When I was hired to help revitalize an 80 year old church and discover their brand, my main value was to honor the past while embracing the future. I wanted to include the stained glass that has been a staple of the church’s architecture for so many years, as well as the arched windows, while also giving it a new modern feel. There’s many other elements in the logo, but I am so glad with how this mark turned out and are excited to see what God has in store for Rosewood and the wonderful people involved!

Louder Than Words

This project was really fun. I was hired to create new branding for Louder Than Words Ministries, a ministry that focuses on taking hope to Honduras in any way they can. Everything about this ministry has been inspiring so I wanted to create something that was eye-catching but also effective to their mission. LTW believes hope is one of the only things that can only be hand delivered. We can talk about it all we want, but actions speak louder than words (hence the name) with their emphasis on taking it to the country of Honduras.

Mark Moore, the owner of the ministry, approached me with the idea of a Coleman Lantern being included somehow in the logo mark. The flame in the logo represents the light of Christ and the gospel. I loved that idea, and wanted to take it a step further with the colors. They are carrying the light and hope of Christ (the color red) to Honduras (which is primarily a blue color scheme), which together equals the color purple. In this brand color scheme, they have their mission and hope in one. The purple symbolizes their goal, that the hope of Christ is infused into the country of Honduras. As for the typeface, I wanted to create something that was rugged, because missions is messy, it’s not clean-cut and pampered…which is inviting to people who are looking to get down in the dirt for the sake of the gospel.

Simi Psychological Group

New logo identity design for a new psychological practice in Simi Valley, California. When speaking to their team, i learned their sole purpose is to get to the root of their clients problems, not what’s on the surface, so that they can thrive and bloom properly. Their ideas that there is more to the picture than what their clients see is something I really wanted to apply to the project/brand, that also embodies their vision.

North Trenholm Church

I was honored to have had the opportunity to create the new branding for Gaston County Elections (formerly Board of Elections). I wanted to create something that was modern, fun, ‘murican, and subliminally challenged the community to “go vote!” With the check mark being an easy tie-in to voting, covering up the “O” in a radio button style-icon, revealing the C for Gaston County, I was able to create an easily recognizable logo mark.

First Fruits Finances

I had a blast designing the new branding for First Fruits Finances, a new donor management system designed with churches and non-profits in mind. You can read the reasoning behind this logo in the photos attached. Couldn’t be more excited for them and this design.

Charlotte Crime Stoppers

Charlotte Crime Stoppers connected with me to create their new branding. They wanted to modernize their brand and make it easy for people to make a call and make a difference.

OBX Bees Maintenance

Outerbanks Bee’s Maintenance and Repair. This was a fun one to make for a client who contacted me from the far east of my home state in search of a logo/branding. They also have a sweet construction truck that looks like a bee, so if you’re ever in the Outer Banks…keep a lookout

Max Health Chiropractic

This is one of my most favorite projects to date! Max Health hired me to create a logo/rebrand that told their story in a creative way. Matt and Jen own three different Chiropractic offices in Wisconsin, as well as them doing speaking events, radio, lifestyle, and weight loss classes. They wanted a mark that identified all of those aspects through it. That’s a pretty tall order, but I believe that’s what breeds creativity.

There are bunch of different aspects and meanings of the logo I can get into, but to summarize: Max Health exists to bring hope, health, and healing. If you have a pulse, you have a purpose. If there is a heartbeat, there is hope.

KB Creative gets the most important thing about branding and design: Culture. Kirk has a listening ear for what a company or organization values and the gifts to fold that into design. If you are looking for someone to understand your culture and express it with excellence, KB Creative is a great option.
